Dr. Alina Gonzalez-Mayo was born and raised in Miami, Fl. She did her psychiatry residency in St. Vincent’s in New York, and a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at NYU. Dr. Gonzalez-Mayo remained in New York for several years before moving back to Florida. She was in private practice in St. Pete until joining the VA in 2010. Dr. Gonzalez-Mayo serves as the Section Chief for the Inpatient Unit and the Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Program at Bay Pines VA with Nova Southeastern University as the sponsor. She also chairs the Public Psychiatry for the Florida Psychiatric Society.
